Here are some quick and easy tips that will keep your heating costs down this winter:

  1. Keep your thermostat at 68° F.
  2. Adjust your thermostat 5 degrees lower in the winter when you leave the house.
  3. Open your shades in the winter to maximize solar heat gain.
  4. Change system and duct filters every 30 days.
  5. Inspect window sashes, seal with insulation to reduce drafts.
  6. Close foundation vents.
  7. Keep furniture away from inside vents to help circulate air.

Here are some additional tips for winterizing your home:

      -    Keep leaves and mulch away from outside units.
      -    Drain hoses and remove from hose bibs to keep them from freezing.
